Kevin Vu is a filmmaker and editor based in New York. A first-generation Vietnamese-American, he was born and raised in Southern California. He received his MFA in 2019 from NYU Tisch School of the Arts’ Graduate Film Program.

His short film Splendona screened at several international film festivals, premiered online as a Vimeo Staff Pick, and was distributed through Gunpowder & Sky’s horror platform ALTER.

His work has also been featured in Filmmaker Magazine, NoBudge, New York Times, and Hammer to Nail.

He is a recipient of the inaugural Debra & Leon Black Family Film Prize for his latest short film Perfect as Cats, which premiered at the 68th edition of the San Sebastián International Film Festival.

He is currently in development of his first feature film.
